About:

Based in Manchester, Isaac Jordan’s work presents fragmented, tentative images where at times nothing is as important as something. Usually done in one sitting, the paintings are made up of a collection of thin layers that slowly drift on top and underneath each other. Shapes are pushed around, collated and overlapped until eventually coming to some kind of rest - perhaps momentarily caught in the surface of a boggy swamp. Group shows include; Jasper Howard, Isaac Jordan: Paintings, PS Mirabel, Manchester (2022); SLAP-BANG, Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, Castlefield Gallery NAS Warrington (2021); Pushing Up Daisies, Soft Spot, Manchester(2021) and BEEP Painting Prize, Swansea (2020).

He was recently awarded a Spike Island Fellowship 20/21.
